Freelance Drone Videographer – Maine-Based (Travel Opportunities)
Job Description
Your Responsibilities
Freelance Drone Videographer Opportunity Surf Star Media – Est. 2003 | Maine-Focused, Nationally Trusted
At Surf Star Media, we create compelling websites, videos, and media that help small businesses—general contractors, realtors, restaurants, mechanics, developers, and municipalities—tell their stories and grow. Since 2003 we've partnered with everyone from Sony Music and Major League Baseball to local Maine trades, always prioritizing integrity, reliability, and real results.
We're expanding our creative network and seeking an experienced freelance/contract drone videographer to join us on select projects.
What You'll Do
- Capture high-quality aerial video and stills for:
- Real estate listings (residential & commercial)
- Construction & development progress shots
- Municipal projects (solar arrays, power lines, trail systems, public infrastructure)
- Local business promotions & storytelling pieces
- Deliver steady, cinematic footage with smooth gimbal work, unique angles, and strong visual narratives
- Collaborate with our team: your clips become key elements in full video packages, website hero sections, and client marketing campaigns
What We Value Most
- FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate (current & in good standing – required)
- Proven experience shooting real estate, construction, development, or municipal/infrastructure subjects
- Technical excellence: stable, high-res footage (4K preferred), clean composition, attention to lighting/weather conditions
- Storytelling mindset: you understand how aerial shots contribute to a bigger brand or project story
- Creative freedom respected: we encourage your artistic eye and unique perspectives
- Reliability & professionalism: clear communication, on-time delivery, respect for client sites & schedules
- Location: Based in Maine (or nearby New England) strongly preferred for quick local response; willing and able to travel regionally or nationally for larger projects when they arise
What We Offer
- Project-based freelance/contract work with competitive rates
- Opportunity to work on meaningful stories for growing Maine businesses (and select national clients)
- Creative input and respect for your craft – we want your best work, not cookie-cutter shots
- Long-term partnership potential for the right collaborator
- A team that values ethics, transparency, and mutual growth
If you're passionate about drones as a storytelling tool, take pride in safe/professional operations, and want to help small-to-mid-sized clients stand out, we'd love to see your work.
